Introducing FORTEX: Protection Re-Engineered

Majestic Fire Apparel is proud to introduce FORTEX with Nomex® Nano Flex, a structural firefighting hood that combines advanced particulate-blocking technology with purpose-driven design. Built specifically for structural firefighting, FORTEX was developed to provide the protection firefighters need while maintaining the comfort, flexibility, and mobility they expect from their hood.

Advanced Particulate-Blocking Construction

At the core of FORTEX is a single-layer trilaminate fabric featuring Nomex® Nano Flex as the center particulate-blocking layer, surrounded by Nomex®/Viscose knit on the inner and outer surfaces. This construction creates a breathable, flexible barrier designed to help reduce exposure to harmful particulates without sacrificing comfort or mobility. But FORTEX isn't just about what's inside the hood. We took the opportunity to rethink key elements of traditional hood construction and introduce practical design enhancements focused on fit, function, and ease of use.

Designed Differently

One of the most noticeable changes is the Direct-Grip Face Opening. Instead of covering the face-opening elastic with fabric, FORTEX intentionally leaves the elastic exposed. This allows the elastic to make direct contact with the SCBA facepiece, creating a firm, secure grip while eliminating the traditional fabric-covered elastic construction.

FORTEX also features our Doff Assist Tab™, strategically positioned at the top of the face opening. The integrated elastic tab creates an easy-to-grip point to assist firefighters with hood positioning and doffing.

Additional features include a double-seam head design, universal sizing, a 20-inch length, and NFPA 1970-2025 UL certification, as highlighted in the brochure.

Firefighters don't all have to look the same. In addition to classic black, the FORTEX lineup includes Shamrock, Red Line Flag, and Pink Ribbon designs, giving firefighters options to show their pride, support, and personality while wearing FORTEX.
